Video 5: Find Your Voice Through Creative Practice

Enjoy this video from our FREE 5-lesson Mini Course created from previous sessions of our Online 300hr YTT.

At Vira Bhava Yoga, we believe that there are as many ways to practice, learn, and teach Yoga as there are practitioners of it. We NEVER demand perfection of our students and instead hold space for their own discoveries while providing guidance from highly experienced teachers and faculty. One of the ways we encourage our students to find their own unique voice is through a variety of creative expression practices, designed to give them a tactile experience of the material at hand, and the space to reflect on & process that experience from a new perspective. This video is an example of one of these practices, taken from one of our online modules.

For this practice, you’ll need:

  • Art Paper

  • Art medium in 2 colors (paint, markers, pencils, crayons, etc)

  • Tape

  • Blindfold

The most important part of these practices is in the reflection that comes from sharing about your experience. Once you’ve completed the practice, we suggest taking the following questions to your journal, and writing about your experience:

  • What have you created?

  • Why does your painting look the way that it does?

  • Share any insights or epiphanies you gleaned from this process and from answering the previous questions.
