For the Courageous...

Explore Yoga with a Hero's Heart!

Vira Bhava Yoga School provides a full spectrum integrative Yoga experience that exceeds Yoga Alliance (YA) standards.

Our 230 hour program is unique because of our commitment to exploration beyond the physical practice of yoga. Through our time tested methods and exceptional faculty, you will learn how to use asana as path to Self Discovery. Our programming is rich, robust, and an accumulation of decades of study and practice with teachers from the lineage of Sri Vidya Tantra, primarily from Para Yoga and the lineage of the Himalayan Institute.

We study and explore Shakta Tantra, and are deeply informed by the movement practices of Angela Farmer, and The Feminine Unfolding. Vira Bhava Yoga offers programming that moves beyond the basic standards of Yoga trainings and into the mystical realms of Yoga as a Life Practice.

Our programming creates an opportunity for individuals to become familiar with and enrich their perspective through the lens of Yoga. Participation with Self and the world is paramount in our work, which is why the length of our program is eight months. We do not promote our School as a belief system or as a substitute for religion. We encourage every student to weave what they learn in our programs into their world views, spiritual practices, religious systems, and lives.

The training provides the resources, knowledge, experience, and support needed to gain the skills which lay the foundation of lifelong personal practice of Yoga. Through integrating these practices into your life, you will recognize your individual purpose and passion, and move into your truth and power.

The intention of this program is to offer you the tools, techniques, opportunity, and community that allow you to find your unique approach to practice, and, if you choose, share it with the world. We provide tools and training for those who desire to teach and to support those who are seeking to ask questions, deepen their practice, and share it with others. In this training, we experience the study of Yoga with a community who are seeking profound and lasting change in themselves and our world.

You will be enrolled in our Mentor Program once our programming begins.

The mentor program for the 8 Month Yoga Training Immersion is designed to provide additional support and encouragement to students throughout the training. Students will be paired with a mentor, and will connect with that mentor monthly. The mentor is a yoga teacher who has been through our training program(s), and/or has an understanding of our curriculum, and has begun journey of teaching yoga.

Having a mentor will increase opportunities for students in training to connect with yoga teachers and students within the community, and to receive guidance and feedback as they begin to enter the world of a deeper personal practice and teaching yoga. As part of the program homework (for certification track only), students will observe, attend, and assist classes with their mentor.

Goals of Mentor Program:

  • Provide support to students going through the teacher training program, and improve their success and participation in the program.
  • Increase motivation for both mentors and mentees to grow in their own yoga practice
  • Engage and connect students and teachers with each other and the community so that they develop a sense of belonging and cooperation
  • Provide an opportunity for student teaching, with mentors offering guidance and feedback
  • Help students develop confidence in their teaching ability and their own uniques styles
  • Encourage students to reach their full potential as yoga students and aspiring teachers
  • Provide additional learning and leadership opportunity for current teachers/professionals
