Kelly Golden, E-RYT 500 and Level 1 Certified Para Yoga Teacher, Program Director
Kelly has been a student and practitioner of yoga for over 20 years. Through the exploration of the physical, philosophical, and meditative practices, yoga has touched every aspect of her life in a positive way. She infuses her teaching with the passion that she has for the practice of yoga, both on and off the mat.
In asana practice, Kelly pays close attention to the work of the body (anatomy and physiology), as well as the more subtle work of energy embodied in the mind and spirit of each individual student. For Kelly, Yoga class is a meaningful conversation between students and teacher that leads everyone closer to alignment with their integrity and awareness of their essential nature.
Kelly teaches philosophy, energtics, pranayama, meditation and asana refinement in the training.
Kelly is a Yoga Alliance Registered E-RYT 500 and a Level 1 Certified Para Yoga Teacher. She studies and teaches in the lineage of Sri Vidya Tantra as taught by Para Yoga. She has been teaching for 14 years, and her specialty is teaching teachers.
Kelly has written for yogabasics.com and Yoga Journal, and is the co-facilitator of Neighborhood Yoga Teacher Training program in Boone NC and was the director of teacher trainings at The Glowing Body in Knoxville, TN from 2010-2012. She is currently the the director of Vira Bhava Yoga which leads teacher trainings and retreats in Northern California and the mountains of Western North Carolina.

Amy Joytir, LMT, RYT, Anatomy & Asana Specialist
Amy has been practicing yoga in one form or another for much of her adult life, and the practices of asana, meditation, and breath have kept her grounded, centered and real in the midst of life's ups and downs.
Somewhere around 2006, after being "kicked out of the nest" by her teachers, Amy began teaching yoga, drawing on her years of personal study and practice, and learning apprentice style from teachers and students alike. Seeking a deeper experience of teaching, she went on to complete her 500 hour certification through Vira Bhava Yoga, and she continues to learn and grow with ongoing education and practice.
Amy comes to yoga with a strong background in anatomy and physiology, and a long career in massage therapy, structural integration, and fitness. She taught Anatomy and Physiology to massage students for many years, and recently brought that expertise to the Vira Bhava yoga teacher training programs. She teaches anatomy from a functional perspective, bringing anatomy into asana, and asana into anatomy. This allows students to embody the anatomy lessons, and provides insights into better alignment and injury prevention.
Amy's yoga classes are informed by her deep studies in buddhist and tantric traditions, and infused with a deep sense of presence. Learning and teaching with an open heart, she believes learning should be fun as well as informative. Her classes are unique, safe, and light hearted, and are created to be accessible for all bodies.

Along with her experience, Amy brings a love of yoga and an open heart, and she believes that learning should be light-hearted and fun, even if it is intense.

Scott Howard has had the privilege to learn ritual Sanskrit with Vedic shaman Amarananda Bhairavan and to study Ayurveda, Sanskrit and Yoga with Dr. Vasant Lad while completing a 2 year full-time Ayurvedic program. He received his 500hr RYT with Chitra Giauque in 2005 while at the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He is also a certified Breema Bodywork instructor and practitioner.
Scott will be teaching an introduction to Sanskrit.
Angela Sullivan began in the Iyengar tradition in 1989. She is certified by Angela Farmer and Victor Van Kooten, and has trained extensively with Ana Forrest, Bob Smith, and Rodney Yee. Over the years she has developed a unique style, informed by a variety of teaching approaches and her own personal exploration of yoga’s transformational potential. Her playful perspective makes the essential core of asana practice accessible to all; her training in human biomechanics insures a safe and supportive environment in which to cultivate harmonious and injury-free movement in our daily lives.
Angela will be sharing her expertise in the biomechanics of yoga, and will also teach a segment on finding your own voice.
Michelle Linane is a yoga lover, student and teacher. She's the founder of Be The Change Yoga & Wellness (San Jose, CA), a donation-based studio with a mission to make yoga available to everyone regardless of financial circumstance. With a strong community focus, Michelle took yoga outside the studio walls and brought yoga programs to local parks, farms, schools and businesses.
Over the years, her love for yoga has transformed into a deep passion for helping fellow teachers. She's the author of The Thriving Yoga Teacher: How To Create A Sustainable Career Doing What You Love, the host of the Love Teaching Yoga Podcast and the creator of the Love Teaching Yoga website, a growing library of online resources to help yoga teachers refine their skills and build their careers. She wholeheartedly believes in these words from Robert John Meehan, "The most valuable resource that all teachers have is each other. Without collaboration, our growth would be limited to our own perspective."

After graduating from the California College of Ayurveda (CCA) in 2002, Nitya opened her own private consultation and healing practice in Grass Valley, CA. In 2004, she and a colleague co-created her current Pancha Karma therapies center known as Rejuvenation Therapies, where Nitya is still practicing the art of Ayurveda. Since 2013, Nitya has been collaborating with the California College of Ayurveda in Nevada City as a teacher of the specialized pancha karma therapies trainings as well as supervising the training of staff therapists at CCA's Ayurvedic Spa.
In her teens, Nitya maintained a dedicated yoga and meditation practice which opened her up to inner realms and inspired her to explore multiple energy healing modalities. For the past 35 years she has acquired diverse degrees in the healing therapies: therapeutic and deep tissue massage to alleviate chronic pain, acupressure, trigger point therapy and Marma Chikitsa. Some of her mentors include Dr. Pankaj and Smita Naram of Ayushakti Ayurved, for whom Nitya worked as a consultant during their U.S. west coast tours from 2001 to 2006. She has studied with Dr. John Douillard, Dr. Mary Jo Cravatta and anytime possible with Dr. Sarita Shresta as well as Dr. Vasant Lad at The Ayurvedic Institute in New Mexico.
Nitya's 12 years of in-depth experience at providing hundreds of pancha karma therapies has brought her to witness many incredible "Aha" moments and turning points in people's lives, bringing them to deeper realizations of their natural, balanced state of being. These moments are unforgettable and provide a yearning to maintain or seek that balance from that moment on. Her life motto is: "In service to Divine Love and Light".
Nitya is our Ayurvedic Specialist. She will be sharing her knowledge of this ancient practice in our Training.
Jenn Andrews has been studying Meditation Secrets for Women and Radiance Pranava Meditation for years with her teachers, Camille Maurine and Dr. Lorin Roche. She has been certified under their teachings and guidance and continues to study intensely with Dr. Lorin Roche as part of his Advanced Meditation Teacher Training. As a meditation teacher Jenn is committed to developing a meditation practice that suits the needs of every individual student. Meditation is not a one-size fits all practice! In fact there are hundreds of techniques for meditating and so it could be a bit overwhelming to know which one is right for you. It is our philosophy that meditation should feel natural to you and that the essence of meditation is simple: What YOU love becomes the basis, the starting point and the foundation for your personal practice.
